Oobleck-An Amazing Fluid!

Introduction

What is Oobleck?
Oobleck is the mixture of a solid and a liquid. Oobleck is also a fourth state of matter called non-Newtonian fluid

Why is Oobleck a non-Newtonian fluid?

The mixture of the ingredients create a bond between a solid and a liquid. That makes Oobleck a non-Newtonian fluid.

How is Oobleck made?
Here is how you make Oobleck:

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • food coloring  (optional)                                                  .
1. Put the cornstarch and water in a bowl .

2. Mix until it has low viscosity.

How does Oobleck act?

When you squeeze the Oobleck, it acts like a solid but if you release pressure, it acts like a liquid and slips out of your hands.

Conclusion

Oobleck is one of the low viscous fluids.

 Did You Know?
Oobleck can not be turned in a ball.
